Memory Decay Protocol

You will forget everything. Everything will forget about you.

At first glance, Memory Decay Protocol resembles a corrupted archive recovered from a distant future: a damaged database, a failing memory structure, a machine desperately attempting to preserve information against the advance of entropy.

Yet beneath the circuitry lies a much older philosophical question.

Marcus Aurelius reminded himself that fame is fleeting because those who remember us are themselves mortal. Memory Decay Protocol pushes that idea further. It is not merely human memory that disappears. The universe itself is a process of forgetting.

Every monument becomes dust.

Every archive becomes noise.

Every thought becomes silence.

The phrase at the center of the work deliberately replaces everybody with everything. The distinction is crucial. The tragedy is not that future generations will fail to remember us. The tragedy—if it can be called one—is that the very fabric in which memory exists is temporary.

Your body is temporary.

Your mind is temporary.

The neural patterns that constitute your identity are temporary.

The poster imagines memory as a physical structure slowly collapsing under the weight of cosmic time. The circuitry becomes a metaphor for consciousness itself: an intricate network briefly resisting dissolution before returning to the larger system from which it emerged.

In the distant horizon of entropy, there are no biographies, no achievements, no followers, no monuments. There is only the gradual smoothing of all distinctions, the slow erosion of every pattern into equilibrium.

And strangely, that realization can be comforting.

If everything is destined to disappear, then meaning cannot be located in permanence. It cannot depend on legacy, remembrance or symbolic immortality. Meaning exists only in the brief interval during which the pattern persists.

The Stoics called this acceptance.

Physics calls it entropy.

Memory Decay Protocol invites the viewer to stop negotiating with mortality and abandon the narcissistic dream of permanence.
